What visitors love about this place
“The kayak/snorkeling tour was beautiful. I had Emily and Drew for guides. They are fun and pointed out some very interesting info about the fish we saw, historic cliff divers, and other cool stuff.”
“It was a good experience. On the kayak tour, you get to see sea lions, dolphins, and go into a cave. Our tour guides Anthony and Eric were funny and cool. It is worth the money for the 2-hr tour.”
“Definitely go for it! The best part is when you enter the ocean and get to the beach. It's fun to maneuver the kayak with/against the waves! Loads of fun.”
“Refinery 29: Fun way to explore S.D. by sea. You can hit the water on your own or sign up for a guided tour, where you'll be led to La Jolla's stunning sea caves.”

Awesome experience! Your guides are very informative in safety and interesting historical facts as wells as humor. Great sight seeing as well as water sport. Excellent outdoor activity! Prices are modest. Tip: if you don’t have a phone water case protector leave your phone or buy a protector bag, I barely got my phone wet and bye bye iPhone. Water and sand not a friendly combination for your device. This spot provides gear as well as lockers for your personal items. Call ahead of time if you are looking to kayak in the cave. Weather and tide conditions will determine cave expedition on your tour. Snorkling areas are available and very cool!
A great tour! Our guide was fun, knowledgeable, and so kind. All of our gear was comfortable and easy to use. We saw tons of fish, leopard sharks, dolphins, a turtle, seals & sea lions.
Such a smooth, friendly and fun experience from start to finish. We are from Nebraska and were in Palm Springs to ring in the New Year. We decided to take a day trip to La Jolla (pronounced ‘La Hoya’, in the San Diego area) to kayak on the ocean and see the caves/caverns. But what we got was so much more than we expected. Greeted with friendly smiles, fun and entertaining staff and guides, top notch equipment and 1.5 hours of non-stop thrilling adventure. We saw Leopard Sharks and so much other sea life, visually captivating cliffs, Sea Lions, plus, a great workout to top it off! Alex and Chance were our guides and they not only entertained us and fed a world of knowledge and facts of the area, but that also made us feel safe, welcomed and in good hands during our adventure. Even the lil kiddos of the group were laughing and interacting with them! At the end Alex suggested some local places to get great food and drinks (we had the best burritos we’ve ever tasted, ever, at La Macho… I think!!). Highly recommended La Jolla Kayak for…. Well there’s too many reasons to count! But if you’re looking for the highest quality, professional and fun adventure entertainment in the San Diego area, be sure to check these guys out!!
We're new to SoCal and it's our first time here in La Jolla. I had an amazing time with my husband. I'm sorry if I butcher the names but I think our two tour guide names were Ryan and Dane? (Please correct me and let me know the names, I'd like to go again with them next time) They were fun to be around and very approachable. They seem to really love what they do. We visited one cave, the other caves weren't safe enough to go in due to the water which is totally understandable. I'd love to come back next time and do other things like snorkeling maybe.
My boyfriend and I had a great time with La Jolla Kayak's. The guides were friendly and helpful. We got lucky with perfect weather and calm seas to go into one of the sea caves. We opted for a double kayak since it's a much better price for two people. You'll definitely get at least a little wet since you sit on top of the kayaks. We are both comfortable, but pretty novice kayakers, and had no problem on the open water, but it was a particularly calm day.
