Baroque Opera for Two — Just $50 (Reg. $70)

When Julius Caesar conquered Egypt, he never expected to be conquered himself — by Cleopatra. This March, Cinballera Entertainment brings Handel's masterwork to San Diego in a production unlike anything you've seen.

This isn't a traditional opera. Cinballera blends three art forms into one experience: Baroque vocal performance with period-correct harpsichord, original ballet choreography inspired by Roman and Egyptian movement, and classic Hollywood-style cinematic staging with projected backdrops and silent film title cards.

Three singers and three dancers share the stage, with a seventh performer bridging both worlds. Beautiful period costumes and dignified sets transport you to ancient Egypt during the Ptolemaic Wars.

Founded by sisters Tiffany and Rebekah Brannan, Cinballera stages productions with artistic integrity and historical accuracy — exciting enough for opera lovers, accessible enough for first-timers. All ages welcome.

Two performances only: Saturday and Sunday, March 21-22, at 3 PM. Shiley Theatre at the University of San Diego.
